Out of left field!

Almost done with the oblit's and banner/mark carriers, liking the world eaters scheme for the "raptors". couldn't decide on the base scheme for the army, so I went with the gray/blue look I use on everything else. After this I'm not sure how much chaos I will be doing, going to put them on the back burner for a bit to get some stuff done on armies I will be playing.
Cranked out some guard veterans for a game that I ended up not waking up in time for. I just need to get in there and get the details done and clean them up. Once I get the 2 squads looking good, I may have to get the 2 vendettas they intend to ride in cleaned up and based.

Halfway mark

So theres one half, will start the rough plans of what to do with the other side of the battlefield this week. Starting with some primer on a BL squad this week as well.

Long week but I managed to get something done, the terrain has me busy. Primered 1/4 of it and ready to paint, another quarter is carved and glued and ready for sand. Finished modelling the oblit's and ready to finish painting. Also I think Im going with the black/gold with red of the black legion.

Tabled

Almost done with one side, I may end the trench where it is. Leaving room for objectives or other terrain peices possibly. May start the other side, then work on the center of the battlefield. Hopefully I can make the other side different but balanced with the first. Definitly need a b reak and get some painting done tonight.

quick update

Didnt get as far as I wanted with the table today but I need to brainstorm on some of the hills and spots above the trench. I think this table top is going to turn out pretty sweet. Will probably end up being the full 8ft. but I think I can mix and match it with other peices I have already for smaller versions.

Going to paint for the next couple days with what little time that I have from the long days at work.

sidetracked with terrain, and now off to do crap with the inlaws. way to interupt my great terrain making process.

Decisions

So I know what I want to do with most color schemes for elite or specific units, the hard part is deciding on the basic chaos marine squads and vehicles. I like the idea of the Black legion not following one but all of the dark powers. I love the black legion, but I dont really want to paint more black power armor. Trying a test run on a champion on the right with the legions basic colors and I'm not liking it. I may just go with a rusted out look instead similiar to the oblit in the middle. After that I need to figure out what to do with the bases.

Chaos first week.

So I threw some paint on some berserkers so they are tabletop ready. Started building some Oblit's and I'm not sure what to think of them, maybe after I get some paint on them.

I forgot how much chaos stuff I really had, 10 more berserkers and 20 more marines to put together. I may use old school jump packs and make some raptors. Just need to pick up a couple rhinos and this force is all set.

Chaos begins

Collected and put together, still have one more squad to assemble. Not pictured is berserkers and yet another marine squad. debating on making some obliteraters or terminators for the final squad.
